Keep Routt Wild is a community organization dedicated to preserving wildlife and wild places in Routt County. Our mission is to promote policies and practices for the benefit of conserving the Yampa Valley for future generations of outdoor enthusiasts by balancing opportunities for recreational development with the habitat needs of wildlife. We are hikers, bikers, hunters, anglers, skiers, ranchers, and local business owners…we are Routt County.
Rocky Mountain Youth Corps engages young people in the outdoors, empowering them to use their strengths and potential to lead healthy, productive lives. They build resiliency in themselves, communities and ecosystems through teamwork, service and experiential education.
Routt County Riders exists to advocate for all cyclists in Northwest Colorado and to protect the trails and thoroughfares we enjoy on two wheels. We are committed to leading our efforts with open and inclusive minds and hearts. While the culture of cycling in general has evolved greatly over recent decades, it remains evident that diverse voices are underrepresented within the community we cultivate. We all experience the privilege of opportunities given to us in the past by chance, birth locale, race, gender, and much more, and we seek to engage actively in the conversation that surrounds deliberate and overt inclusivity in the multi-layered spectrum of the outdoor industry. We are open to the potential for growth and hope that our trails and roadways will be interpreted as a space for all riders to enjoy their basic human right to freedom of movement.
Mission To cultivate a place of serenity that opens its gates to all, enriches our community by bringing people together, and offers the opportunity to connect and learn about the wonders of nature. t is a place to enjoy the flowers and the trees, a place to revel in nature, and a hideaway from the stress of modern life. It is a place for summer music festivals, weddings, and yoga, and a resource to see native plants. The Botanic Park sits at 6,800 feet above sea level, but through the use of designed microclimates it supports both alpine plants and desert plants found in the Yampa Valley.
Yampatika’s mission is to inspire environmental stewardship through education. Our main goal, broadly defined, is to develop environmental learning opportunities that serve the children and adults of Northwest Colorado. Established in 1992 as the “Yampatika Outdoor Awareness Association,” Yampatika continues to be the only non-profit organization that offers a continuum of educational services to children and adults ranging in age from pre-K to senior citizens in Routt, Moffat and Jackson Counties.
